Save The Date

wedding party

Oh my gosh! It’s getting too real for me. We’re talking budgets, wedding dresses, bridesmaids, to have a DJ or not (not) and so much more because there is so much more. As for now the date is August 1, 2009 for Lady Ali’s wedding.

August 1, 2009 will be my Mom’s 80th birthday. At first Lady Ali didn’t think she should have her wedding on that day but I think it would be a very nice tribute to her Grammy. It fits into her and Fiance’s schedule so why not?

They’re planning on a casual brunch reception but family is very important to both of them. There won’t be the “tacky” traditions as they call them, like the garter belt, but there will be family dances and lots of photos.

I was pleasantly pleased when Lady Ali asked me and Hubby what we wanted at the wedding. She is really showing her maturity. She was shocked when we said we’d pay for the wedding so she’s being very thoughtful. Well she’s thoughtful any way, but even more so now.

It’s fun talking about the wedding plans. I’m just getting a bit worried like any Mom would. I trust her though. I really like Fiance too. I wish we had more time to get to know him before they moved. I’ll try to go to Kansas as soon as I’m feeling better to visit them for a long weekend.
