• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • Thank You Cards

April 27th, 2008 by Connie Roberts

I’ve taught both of my children to write Thank You cards for every gift they’ve received. I write thank you cards too. This type of etiquette is very important for children to learn as they will need to thank teachers, professors and supervisors for recommendations as well as people for job interviews later in life.

I’m grateful that my mother taught me to write thank you cards because soon I’ll be writing a lot of them. For the Single Mothers’ Appreciation Day at church we have received donations in the form of gift certificates and items from local businesses. We’ll also have people from the community volunteering their time and effort to make this day special for the mothers and children that attend.

I had the idea of using Photo Cards with a picture of our church on the front. This will let the companies and volunteers that this is a church run event and that all members are taking part in one way or another.

Cards Direct has a lot of cards that you can customize the way you want. You can add your own photos. Add your wording too either on the front of the card or on the inside or both. You can even purchase envelopes with your return address printed on them.

Think of the possibilities of using this type of card:

    • Announcing Your New Address with a photo of your home added
    • An Engagement Announcement with a photo of the happy couple
    • Congratulations card for a graduate with his or her photo added
    • Opening a new business with a photo of the building or sign

Just let your creative juices flow and see what you can come up with.

Unfortunately, writing thank you cards seems to have gone the way of actually writing letters. I did my best to teach the girls to write them, especially at Christmas and birthdays but most times I have to physically stand over them while they’re doing it!
