Our website which includes this blog as a subdomain was hacked earlier today. I totally freaked out when I saw what had happened. This is something that I have no clue how to handle. I was on Twitter at the time so I tweeted what had happened. Right away, a number of my friends (followers as they are known on Twitter) came to my aid. Some offered me support by empathizing with me. Some offered help by giving me some links to look at. Some were angry along with me.
Within a few minutes, I was able to locate my web host, Coleman of File-House Hosting who also blogs at The Ramblings of An Inquisitive Idiot. I IM’d him to tell him what happened while I was a bit upset. But after hearing from my Twitter friends I can honestly say that I was no longer as was previously. Coleman helped me to get my website up and running again, along with my blog.
BenSpark was so kind to me. He celebrated with me when my site was back up. He’s got his video for IzeaFest. You have to check out his video. It is hilarious! I am also very proud to have his widget of his PAD (Photo A Day) on this blog.
msjennylin has a site called GimpGirl, which is a community for women with disabilities. This site offers chats, resources and mailing lists, among other ways to connect and support us women who have disabilities.
Linc4Justice was ready to hurt the hacker in a very physical way. His post Introducing: The Top 19 Songs of All Time Playlist shows why Linc is always spouting song lyrics on Twitter and on forums and on his blog and well everywhere.
It gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling to know that I have friends I can count on. You can too. Why not join me on Twitter?
