• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

Outlet Plug Remover To The Rescue

    April 30th, 2008

    WedgEZ Outlet Plug Remover
I don’t have an infant or toddler any more, but I still use outlet plugs. We had our home tested when we were having problems with our air conditioner last summer. This test checked all types of air leaks as well as the air conditioner itself. One of the things we learned is that outlets allow air to leak. Air leaks cause the air conditioner to work more which costs us money on our electric bill.

After the test, we got a list of recommendations and one of them was to install outlet plugs. They’re inexpensive so we bought a bunch of packages, feeling like new parents, and plugged them in.

All well and good, but when I need to use an outlet I have to remove those suckers. For me pulling out the plugs is not only difficult but painful. I have rheumatoid arthritis and osteo-arthritis and trying to get get a handle on a plug is like me trying to open a jar after Hubby closed it. The WedgEZ, the Outlet Plug Remover makes this chore easier for me.

The ergonomic shape of this tool fits my hand like a glove. I’ve recommended the WedgEZ to my church. We have a nursery with outlet plugs and many of our members who volunteer there are elderly and have arthritis. This also would make a nice addition to a gift of baby-proof products for expectant parents or for a baby shower. I’m sure any mom who has takes care of her fingernails would love one too. She’ll have to get her own though. This one’s all mine!

    It’s Almost Saturday!

    April 29th, 2008

I’m apologizing in advance for this post. If you’re not me and you’re reading this it will probably either annoying, boring or both. Annoying because I’ve been writing about this for the past couple of weeks. Boring because you most likely have no interest in this. Both because I’m repeating myself over and over. I’ve written before that I have OCD and when I’m involved in a project I obsess over it.

The Single Mothers Appreciation Day at Dayspring Church is coming down to the wire. Tomorrow we have Women’s Bible Study. I’ll be staying afterwards to get more work done. I need to make up goody bags for the children, finish the mothers’ bags, buy some table cloths, and make up some more baskets.

The church congregation is really coming together to help out, especially now since we’ve had so many more mothers RSVP. There’s an email going out that we need more food and gifts for the big day. I’m worn out but it’s almost over. Our next big event at church will be VBS. We’re already planning for that.

    You Gotta Have Friends

    April 28th, 2008

This morning I tried to update my blog to WP 2.5.1 but I really wanted my friend, Coleman to be online with me while I did it. I was afraid I was going to mess it up. So we worked together on Yahoo IM chat. Thank goodness he was there to help me because I totally messed up my blog.

I had worked with him before when I had to upgrade to 2.5 and wrote down the directions so I really thought this would just be him listening to me read them out loud while I was following them. Of course that wasn’t the case at all. I don’t know how or why but I totally messed up and lost my blog.

Coleman’s post WordPress 2.51 and Automatic Updates Of Your Data Base goes into detail about some of the problems people are having with this update. If it weren’t for him this morning I never would have had my blog up and running today. He is also the owner of File-House, which hosts websites, images, blogs and more. His patience and one on one work with his customers is just the kind of thing that I need.

On a bit different note but one concerning friendship, I and my dear friend Darlene worked together again today on getting ready for the big day, Saturday May 3rd, for our church’s Single Mothers’ Appreciation Day. We got the goody bags for the moms started, fixed up all of the baskets and even got some of the children’s items ready for their bags. We work like a team and move quickly. We needed to as we had a big change in the number of attendees.

We went from having 6 mothers registered up to 24 now! That number may grow because we lost phone service, cable and internet connection today. There were more phone numbers on my caller ID of people I don’t know than there were phone messages. So there may be more mothers coming. I’ll be calling them tomorrow.

Thank God for helping this ministry along!

Winner Right Here, Yup at This Blog

    April 27th, 2008

While Twittering away last night I saw a tweet to me that said I had won a Random Reward Volume 4. Honestly I didn’t remember entering a contest but when I saw that the tweet came from the Saphrym and linked to The Saturday Update:4/26/2008 I immediately remembered what I was all about.

In no time flat I got $5 added to my paypal account and am on the list for a Saphrym t-shirt if/when they come in, according to him. So thanks pal! You rock!
