• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

    All These Photos

    March 25th, 2008

    digital photo frame

If you’re like me you have tons of photos downloaded on a CD or on your computer. You’ve looked at them, cropped them and then…did nothing with them. They’re full of family memories and they’re sitting there unseen and forgotten.

We are still in the process of updating some areas of our home. One of them is a long hallway where I’ve always had family photos. Now that Hubby is done with painting the walls I can begin the long process of going through my photos saved on a CD to choose which ones to frame and hang. But I know there will be many more lovely photographs that I can’t share.

A digital photo frame is the answer to my dilemma. Depending on my choice of frame, I can upload up to 1000 photos! Digital Frames Direct has a large variety of frames, including various sizes, styles and options. Their site provides information for the novice like me as well as the seasoned buyer. They even have videos that explain the frames in detail and help you to chose which one is right for you.

Digital photo frames make perfect gifts for family and friends. This site has LCD frames that are used by businesses such as jewelers to show their inventory and frames that are given as corporate gifts.

If large corporations like Chevron and Mercedes Benz use Digital Frames Direct, they must be doing something right.

    Leftovers

    March 24th, 2008

I love leftovers! They make my life so easy and carefree. I don’t have to think about what to cook, remember to defrost it, listen to Peanut complain that she doesn’t like what I’m making and then cook an entire dinner that in all likelihood only I will eat.

Leftovers and microwaves make my day go smoothly. I just heat up a dish for everyone individually. They feel empowered by choosing what they want to eat that way. I use paper dishes and then throw them away when I’m done.

Today we had leftovers from Easter. There was a lot of food left so it was easy to heat up something for everyone including my Mom and Aunt. We had honey baked ham, baked potatoes, broccoli and a salad. Everything was yummy yesterday. Today it was even better. There’s something about food tasting better the next day. Is it laziness making my tummy believe that or is it true?

    He Is Risen!

    March 23rd, 2008

Today is Easter and one of the holiest days we as Christians celebrate. We know that Jesus was crucified for our sins and on the third day he rose from the dead to open the gates of Heaven for those who believe in him.

But what do those words really mean? My Pastor gave an excellent sermon about the reasons that Jesus died for us. I’m using just the outline written by Rev. Robert Barnes:

    1. To Show He Loves Us – Dying for us and suffering as he did on the cross is the ultimate sacrifice. Add to this that Jesus is God and could have easily “turned off” his humanity so as not to feel the pain, humiliation and fear of this terrible death.

    2. To Absorb the Wrath of God – When we sin against God it is a grievous act. Jesus takes the punishment that is due us upon himself.

    3. To Free Us From a Bad Inheritance – There is a belief that the there are curses in families through their ancestry or something that causes us as adults to be unable to recover from childhood hurts. With Jesus’ sacrifice we are broken from these things.

    4. To Show that the Worst of Evil is Meant for Good: The worst evil is sinning against God. When Jesus was killed, the worst sin took place. We must remember that this was all part of God’s plan. This can show us that nothing we do is too horrible, too awful for God to forgive. We are free through Jesus. We don’t ever have to feel afraid.

Thank you Jesus! I pray that the words of my Pastor (paraphrased by me) lead you to the loving arms of Jesus. I pray that you will open your heart to him.

    Not That

    March 22nd, 2008

Here in Florida there’s a word that no homeowner wants to hear. It’s something that can destroy your home without you even being aware. It’s not hurricane or tornado or storm. No this is a part of nature but not related to the weather. It’s termite.

I’ve seen homes that are tented because they’ve been infested with termites. The fumigation process is a scary thought. It is quite expensive and you cannot have access to your home for days.

You can do your own inspection of your home or have a professional do it for you. There’s a great website that teaches you the correct way to inspect your home yourself. There’s also photos of what an infestation looks like and the various types of termites.

I have Hubby do our inspections. I don’t like bugs of any kind so I’d just scream if I saw an ant.
