• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

    Guest Blogger on Fighting Fatigue

    March 29th, 2008

Please check out Fighting Fatigue, not only because of my guest blogging post there about Sjogren’s Syndrome but because this is an excellent health blog.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to share my knowledge and my experience with an invisible chronic illness in the hopes that it could assist someone searching for answers or needing support.

    Missions Day

    March 29th, 2008

Tomorrow is Missions Day at church. We’ll be having a day to meet some of the missionaries that we support. We start out in the morning with breakfast and then we’ll hear from the missionaries about their lives in other countries. We are so used to being able to worship as we like here in the United States, but there are still countries that murder people for practicing their faith.

I am shocked and horrified to read about how difficult the lives of some of our Christian missionaries are. There have been times of danger, fear and sadness on their parts. When we get reports from them, we pray and try to get as much information as possible. This can be difficult at times because the governments may not allow communication to others especially to anyone in the US.

Please pray for our missionaries who trust God with their very lives when they visit countries that persecute Christians. Persecution.org is a website for this type of information and can be helpful for your own knowledge and for your prayer life.

    Wheelchair Accessible Vans

    March 28th, 2008

I don’t use a wheelchair but I use a scooter. It is very difficult to transport my scooter. It’s a pain to take apart and put back together. I can’t do it myself and I don’t like depending on people. I’d love to have one of those
handicap vans so I can feel more in control of my life, go where I want without relying on others and make more use of my scooter.

What ends up happening with me is that if I’m going somewhere alone or with someone who can’t handle my scooter, I end up leaving it at home. There’s many times when I could make use of the scooter and prevent feeling terrible the next day or even getting into a flare-up.

Having the ability to take my scooter with me wherever I go would also allow me to make longer trips on my own. I wouldn’t have to worry so much about feeling too fatigued to drive a long distance and return home if I can use the scooter instead of walking.

Having a van that would enable me to take my assembled scooter along would really change my life for the better.

    Church Photos

    March 28th, 2008

I took a well needed break from blogging today as I’ve been in a rotten mood. I think I needed to get away for a while. We went to get our photos taken for our church directory. We really need a new one as the current one is about 6 years old.

It took a long time to get the photos taken, then to be called in to see them, shown the different package choices and make a decision on what to buy. We didn’t have to buy anything, but I loved the photos of Peanut. I ended up spending way too much money but I have a CD of the photos and a free copyright to all of them.

I hate the way I look in pictures. Now I’m thinking of growing out my short, spiky hair. I wish I had one of those programs where I could see what I’d look like in different hairstyles. Gosh it’s terrible when you don’t like the way you look. I think this is a common problem with women more than men. But maybe I’m wrong.

What about you – do you like the way you look in pictures?
