Feed Me

If there’s one thing that I enjoy it’s eating out. I love to go to a nice restaurant, be served well, eat a tasty meal and not have to worry about preparing, cooking and cleaning up afterwards. This is one of things that I look forward to when we go on vacation, but also when I have a doctor’s appointment that’s a long distance from home or one that is something I’m not looking forward to. It’s my special treat.

When we eat out I want to take time to relax, to talk with Hubby and other people that may be with me. I don’t want to feel rushed. I don’t want a server who’s too intrusive, yet someone who can laugh a bit with us, tell us what’s good on the menu and help make our experience a good one. I hate when we have to wait for drink refills or something extra that we need. It just takes away from the satisfaction of the meal and the whole experience.

I wish that every restaurant would have wait staff who are trained to take care of the customers with a little flair. There are a few places that we go frequent just because of a certain server. They just make you feel at home, know what you like and treat you kindly.

If a large restaurant wants to add to their own training, I’d suggest they use this
waitress training DVD. It goes through scenarios that can keep customers happy and wanting to come back for more. It also teaches something close to my heart, cleanliness, including proper hand washing techniques.

When I’m dining out I want some of the extras I don’t have at home like grated cheese on my salad or freshly grated pepper from an electric pepper mill. It’s a nice feeling that when you get your bill at the end of the meal that it was worth it. Being treated well by the server, good food with some special touches and leaving more relaxed that when I came in help me want to spend that money!
