Internship College Programs

Lady Ali has applied to a few graduate schools. One of the important things that she’s looking for in a school is their internship program. She wants to work in her chosen field as part of her education. This is extremely important to her as she will be making her career choice when she finishes school.

This type of co-op program would have helped her greatly while she was in college especially, since she started and graduated early. She’s still not sure of exactly what career she wants partly because of this.

Kettering University, which was named the top Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering undergraduate college of the year by “America’s Best College Guide” (put out by US News and World Reports) offers a cooperative education. Freshman get to take part in this co-op program. Usually students have to wait until at least Junior year to do this.

Students spend 3 months on the job and 3 months in school. This continues until your Senior year. So if you’re getting a degree in industrial engineering you may work for a company like General Motors for 3 months.

Kettering’s engineering co-op programs consist of Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The Engineering program can help you get your Master’s Degree quicker than the normal way of getting a Bachelor’s Degree first and then your Master’s. This alone may be a reason to apply to Kettering.

I only wish that Kettering offered Library Science as a graduate major.
