Little Bit Our FurBaby

Little Bit, our cat is getting old. We’ve had him for 11 years and that’s how old he is. He is really starting to show his age. We’ve taken him to the vet to be sure that he isn’t sick. The vet said that it’s just normal aging. He’s a tough cat and has gotten into a lot of fights with other cats. He used to sneak outside a lot. He has a real predatory streak in him so it was hard to keep in indoors when he was younger.

We’re treating him like our precious baby. We always have but seeing that he’s aging so quickly we’re really spoiling him. We bought a new bed for him, some new toys and let him get away with sleeping in our bed too. When we went shopping for his bed, Peanut saw dog supplies in the store. She’s been asking for a dog for years now.

We were considering the possibility of adopting one, but now that Little Bit isn’t doing too well we’ve put that on the back burner. If we had a puppy in the house it would rile Little Bit up too much. We explained our decision to Peanut who seems to understand that it’s in our cat’s best interest not to bring in any new pets into the house just now.

It is hard to make a decision to bring in new pets when you have an older pet. I have two cats (brother and sister) that were born in 1994 in my home that I have raised. They will soon be 14 years old soon. I did bring in another fixed male cat around them. The sister is not adjusting well. She is pretty set in her ways. She has been use to being the Queen Cat.

So I can understand why you made the decision in the best interest of your family pet. Sure your dd understands.
