I Couldn’t See

Yesterday something weird happened. I had my reading glasses with me at church. I had them in the pew while I helped the children walk down the aisle with their large palms and signing, “Hosanna”. When they were done and I helped the little ones back to the pew, Peanut handed me my glasses.

I was getting one of the children ready with the toddler’s bulletin, when I noticed that my reading glasses were gone. I looked through my purse, all over the pew, under it and then leaned over and asked Peanut if she had them. She looked all over too. I ended up going through the service without being able to read anything.

After church a few friends helped me to look for the glasses again. This time we decided to search everywhere – all of the pews, the nursery, the children’s Sunday School room, the floor in the sanctuary, but still no glasses.

Where could they be? Did they just disappear into thin air? I’ve written before about how my life is like Murphy’s Law on steroids. Here’s another example. Today I bought a new pair of glasses. I guess I should have said that they’re the over the counter ones. I found out that I needed a 2.5 up from a 2.0. Great, my eyesight is getting worse. And I”m just 45.
