• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • I Won’t Leave Home Without It

March 14th, 2008 by Connie Roberts

I keep my medical information in my purse at all times. I keep it in protected plastic. I also am sure that Hubby has the same info. If I’m going out with a friend or other family member I have copies of my these papers for them to keep with them.

As some of you know I take a lot of prescription medications. My problem is that there are many medications that I cannot take. Because I have Myasthenia Gravis, a neuromuscular disease, some medications can make this disease worse. If I’m in a crisis with MG, trained medical staff may think that I’m drunk or on drugs. MG can make my speech slurred, make it difficult for me to walk and at it’s worst, make it difficult for me to swallow and/or breathe.

Wearing medical ID alert jewelery can save me a lot of problems. I also have many other medical conditions that may cause me to have serious, life threatening problems. It’s imperative that in an emergency EMT’s, doctors and nurses would know how to react quickly. Taking advantage of a medical alert system like an engraved bracelet would help First Responders know how to care for me in an emergency.
