• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • FCAT Testing

March 9th, 2008 by Connie Roberts

This week is FCAT testing (the standardized testing for public schools in the state of Florida). Peanut will be taking her first test this year. They begin on Wednesday and end on Friday. That’s a lot of testing for young children and a lot of pressure too.

I wish that the state of Florida would have looked at the calendar and when Daylight Savings Time was set to begin before they scheduled the FCATS which determine Peanut’s ability to be promoted to the next grade. They also determine funding for her school.

She’s stressed out about this test and I don’t blame her. Her teacher has been preparing her to all year but there’s nothing like having to actually take the test. I’m even feeling stressed because of what she’ll be going through. I think I need some prohormones to keep me going.

Parents have been told to have your children get a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast. That’s going to be hard to do for Peanut. But I’ll be praying with her every night and day about trusting in God. That’s all she can do now as studying this late in the game is ridiculous.
