Church Dinners

I love Sunday dinners at church. You have an excuse to eat fattening foods with not much healthy alternatives. Tonight was Truth Seekers at my church. This is a group for children 3 – 12 and their parents. We all get to eat dinner together and then the children go off for a lesson.

One of the grandparents organizes the dinner and we all bring a part of it. Tonight I got to make the tuna salad. My choices for dinner were – tuna sandwiches (made with real mayonnaise), peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, tortilla chips and salsa, applesauce (OK one healthy item) and a giant Valentine’s Day cookie for dessert.

What could I do? I was going to be there for two hours and I had to take my medications. I had to eat. It’s meals like this that make me need to look for a weight loss program. And I’ll be having more of them because Truth Seekers meets every other Sunday evening.
