Tonight we spent a few hours with at our Pastor’s house with some of the other families with young children. We’re working together to help to learn strategies to have our children with us during church service instead of going to children’s church or the nursery.
Some of the younger children and infants stay in church just for the beginning (mostly songs) and then go to the nursery. Some just go to the nursery. Most of the three year olds and up now stay with us in church. It’s been an exciting experience for us all. We’re learning to not only expect to be served at church but to serve. In other words we’re not just sitting back and taking in the sermon, singing, etc. but we’re also being role models for our children and helping them to learn more about what church is all about.
We had some great fellowship together. There of course was food and lots of it. We had pizza, a Greek salad and cookies. I don’t know what it is about church and food but we just like to eat! With me trying to lose weight I have to be careful. Sometimes I feel like I may need diet pills after any of our church gatherings.
I was good though. I had two slices of pizza. I didn’t even finish the crust, lots of salad and didn’t eat any cookies. This was the first real meal I’ve had since I started to feel sick on Monday. I could have eaten a lot more. And that pizza was delicious!
