Party Overload

Peanut’s been so good this year waiting to have her birthday party almost two months to the tee after her actual birthday. You see her birthday falls in December, very close to Christmas. She’s had parties around that time every year. And each year I’ve been sick. And each year many of her friends couldn’t attend because it’s the really busy time of year. We spoke to her last year about this and explained that she’d be happier (we would too) if she postponed her actual birthday party until January.

She agreed this year especially since her sister was graduating from college so close to her birthday anyway. Then January came and went. I was still sick from the nasty virus I got in December. But next Saturday is her big day. Of course as with anything else in our lives, she was invited to another party that afternoon and one on Sunday. So much for keeping things stress free!

When it came time to decide on
invitations we had a bit of a problem. She’s a tween and not too sure if she wants a more childlike party or a more grownup style one. We looked all over for something to make her happy. She finally chose something we could print online but it looked pretty cheesy. The borders were a mess and they didn’t fold right.

Now I don’t think I’d go that overboard for a child’s birthday party unless it was a special one like a baby’s first or another milestone birthday. And there are other parties that are very special where you want the invitations to look professional. Vista Print has tons of choices for invitations like Baby Showers, Luaus, Baptism, Anniversary and much more.

Don’t forget to check out the custom design invitations especially their caricatures. I had a lot of fun playing with that.

There’s even a code to get 10 free invitations at checkout. Just use “BlogInvite10″.
