You’ve read about stories where people’s identities have been stolen or seen them on TV. I always thought it was something rare. That was until a blogging buddy almost had it happen to him. When I read his story I realized that the same thing could happen to me.
We take some steps to try and keep our good names and credit safe. We shred our mail and old bills, check our credit reports about every 6 months or so and make sure to cancel credit cards we don’t use. But there’s so many ways now that your identity can be stolen that I don’t think this is enough.

Yes, lifelock keeps track of fraud every 90 days, they’ll take over getting your credit reports, provide a special service called “wallet lock” which takes care of contacting your credit card companies and getting you new documents like your drivers license, social security card, etc.
