Peachy

When someone asks me how I’m doing I am not going to start telling them about every ache and pain I have. I know it’s just a way of saying hello. I’m sure you know people who do that though. It drives me nuts! To hear the tiny details of their ailments or complaints is like nails on a chalkboard.

That can be an issue for people with a chronic illness. It can overrun their lives so that’s all they talk about. I do have friends that want to really know if I’m feeling OK. Again to bore them with the details is useless in my opinion. Even when Hubby calls to check on me I won’t tell him.

I’ve come up with a catch phrase that helps me get by with humor instead of angering the people that really care about me. If they continue to pursue the matter I’ll say I’m feeling “peachy”. It throws people off and they end up laughing.

Peachy and punchy, that’s me.
