• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • One Flew The Coop

February 3rd, 2008 by Connie Roberts

I can’t take it any more. Lady Ali has been away in Kansas for four days now. She’s there with her boyfriend visiting his family and a school where she may attend for her graduate studies. I miss her!

Knowing that she may be that far away from me terrifies me as well as saddens me. It terrifies me because I don’t know when I’ll see her. If her boyfriend’s family is there, then she may not come home even for holidays.

This has been on my mind and I’m having trouble sleeping because of it. Lady Ali is very independent and hasn’t lived at home for about 5 years now, but she’s always lived close enough that I could get to her in less than two hours.

My baby is growing up too fast.

Don’t forget Connie, I live in Kansas and can check up on her!! Ha. I know the feeling though. With all the great colleges here, you know one of my boys attended school in Portland, Oregon and the other is still at ASU in Phoenix, AZ. Which by the way, the one from Portland just moved to Phoenix!! It’s hard I know as parents to have your kids far from you. But it’s also exciting to see how they blossom and become great adults. (Let me know if you need a Kansas spy):)

      @ Solomon She’s 21.

@ Linda Way too fast for me!

@ Brenda I may take you up the offer to check up on her if she decides to move there. It’s sounding like that every day. She still has to go back for an interview at the college. We’ll see what happens.

I know when I moved further away I began to appreciate my mom even more and our bond got stronger. :)
