Can I Get Some Organization Please?

With all that I do at home, I need to get organized some how, some way. I get lost in my paperwork, items for sale, notes, phone numbers, bills, etc. I’m embarrassed to say that I have piles of paperwork on the floor, on a couch and on a table. I’ve missed paying bills because of this.

I’ve tried to organize things myself, but to no avail. I’ve tried folders, file storage, baskets, desk top organizers even drawer organizers. I even had a small table where my printer is on type of it. The bottom of it has an opening where I stuff more papers, books, folders and who knows what.

Besides hiring an organizer which I know I can’t afford I’m thinking of looking for some new furniture for my home office. Maybe a modern desk might do the trick? Something that has the space I need and the space saving additions right on it. I hope so because if I don’t do something I may need a search party in here.

  1. I’ve been blogging about organization also. We have both full time jobs and all the other things to do (cleaning, laundry, bills, etc) and I’m going nuts. Once I am at home 12 days because of my daughter’s surgery I’m trying to get organized. Blogging is something I really shouldn’t do because I have no time., I admit…but it’s my hobby, this is something I like to do. But I’m really tired of so much work outside and inside the house.
I hope you find a way to organize yourself.

  2. I understand your frustrations. I got a more modern desk too with more shelving…lol. Some days I feel like I need to hire a file clerk to just file for me. If only had more money to hire one.

  3. Hello,
Sometimes products can solve organization struggles, and sometimes they can’t. Try thinking of products as a support item. First think about how you want your home office to function, look like, feel, etc. Get the overall vision of the space that inspires you. Then, got thru paperwork and supplies and decide what you need to keep, and what you need to donate, throw away or donate. Next, assign homes for everything you have in your office – you’ll see some natural categories appear, so be sure to use them. Assigning a home for everything is what will get you organized, and putting things in their homes will keep you that way.
I wish you all the best – you can do it!
