• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

January 23rd, 2008 by Connie Roberts

Today is Women’s Bible Study. Our new Pastor’s wife started to run the group a few weeks ago. She’s a great leader and really has a heart for women’s ministry. I’ve been attending every meeting since she took over the group.

Yesterday afternoon I got a call from Peanut’s Title 1 Parent Educator that we were having our bi-monthly Family Interactive Team Meeting (FIT). It was being held at the same time as Bible study. I had a dilemma on my hands. And it was truly a “world” vs “faith” dilemma.

Knowing how important attendance to the FIT meetings are to the funding of conferences for the school and that they are held every other month I didn’t have much of a choice. I admit that I didn’t pray about it which wasn’t very good on my part. I’m working on that aspect of my life.

I made the decision that I’d be attending the FIT meeting. I called Pastor’s wife to let her know and to apologize. It was good that I went because we only had 5 parents there today. The other schools had a lot more parents attending.

I’ve got to go back to seeking what God wants before making decisions. This is a tough area for me. I’m used to being independent and I make quick choices. One thing I’ll need to do is stop and then act, kind of like stop before opening my mouth. I have a huge problem with that too. Thank goodness for God’s forgiveness!
