Too Cold to Get Out of Bed

Why is it when it’s cold you don’t want to get out of bed? Is it because you feel warm and toasty under the covers? I wore my long pajamas last night. We had the sheet covering us and our quilt and I even was pulling the quilt up over my head at times.

This morning it felt so comfortable in bed. The heat was on so that meant it was really cold outside. I just checked and it was only 36º! To us that’s like below freezing. No wonder I felt like an ice cube when I finally dragged myself out of bed.

And to top it off this cold weather really makes arthritic joints act up. So add that to the feeling of wanting to stay in bed all day and you’ve got a pretty grumpy person on your hands. But once I got Peanut up and off to school (she can always make me laugh), I ate breakfast and got online I’m doing OK now.

This week is an easy one. The schools here have early release Monday – Wednesday. Then they’re closed Thursday – Monday. So we can sleep in then. Maybe we’ll have some more cold weather and I can enjoy my warm bed.

When it’s cold outside there is no place I like better than to be snuggled under the covers and in bed! We got some snow yesterday and more is predicted for the end of this week so I may find myself cuddled up in bed quite often. I just need to get some gloves so that I can use the laptop while I’m snuggling!
