Shop and Help

At this time of year it feels good to give to charities. I do make donations during the year but always know that by Christmas we’ll be giving more than normal. We also purchase gifts for people that have everything by making a donation in their name.

Here’s another way to do something charitable but at the same time get some stylish gifts. JacarandaStyle sells serving accessories, ceramics, jewelery and ostrich eggs that are made into lights or bowls. These items are made in South Africa and are all made by hand.

The monies made by JacarandaStyle are returned to the community of workers, each artisians in their own right. The beauty of their work is now able to be seen outside of their small towns. For every item sold also a percentage is donated to the Ethembeni School in South Africa (www.EthembeniSchool.org). This school supports physically disABLED and visually impaired children in Kwazulu -Natal, Kingdom of the Zulu.

JacarandaStyle has been featured in Ebony, Marie-Claire, Food and Wine, the New York Times, Traditional Home, etc. This company’s ideals and chic items allows itself to be a hot news find.

My favorite item is the Hot Pink arm cuff. Made with black lucite and embroidered pink cotton thread. This bracelet is sure to make heads turn. Knowing that the school and some South African communities are being helped by this purchase makes it even hotter.
