Sweet Revenge

Ah sweet revenge. Sometimes it feels like you can’t control yourself when you’ve been wronged and you just have to get back at someone, do something to feel better. I must admit that the devil’s gotten the best of me at times. But there’s a way to conquer the guilt. A confession is good for the soul and helps you to sleep better at night. You don’t have that guilt getting you down.

I remember back in high school I told a few friends a secret that my good friend told me. Darn, how those kind of things get around fast. She knew about it in a few hours. I had to admit it was me and then wait for her to trust me to confide in me again.

The new Sweeney Todd movie has a website where you can confess anonymously about things you’ve done. Confess to the Demon Barber is not only a way to get rid of guilt, it’s a site where you can read, listen to and watch videos of people confessing about their own acts of revenge. It’s alluring to listen to what people have done especially when they think no one’s watching.

You have the chance to post about something you’ve done that maybe you’ve been keeping a secret for years. It really does help when you get it off your chest. I feel like I need to make a confession for enjoying hearing about other people’s confessions. It just feels dirty.

Sweeney Todd looks like a great movie. It stars Johnny Depp (I might need to do a confessional on my lusting about him in my head) as Sweeney,the Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Lovett who is known for her “meat pies”. The director of this film is Tim Burton (oh yes, of Nightmare Before Christmas fame, Batman, etc.). I really look forward to seeing him work with Johnny Depp again after Edward Scissorhands.
