Missed A Day

I missed my first day posting so I’m out of the running for NaBloPoMo 2007. I do have an excellent reason for not posting today and a lesson learned too.

I’m still not feeling well, actually feeling pretty awful. But I had to go grocery shopping with my Mom for Thanksgiving. She drove and I used the scooter at the store. We had our list and got done as quickly as possible. We got help unloading the groceries into her car, zipped to my house and worked together to get the goods inside.

After eating a quick lunch and having Peanut back home from her trip to Build A Bear, I fell fast asleep. Hubby brought home Chinese food. I ate dinner at 7, took my meds and watched some tv until 10.

When I sat down at my computer I decided to check my emails first and then blog. In the middle of doing that, I got a frantic phone call from my Mom. My Aunt was incoherent and had fallen (actually slipped) off her chair onto the floor. The Paramedics were on their way. Auntie has Diabetes and just went to the doctor today because she thought she had a UTI.

Sure enough her Blood Sugar was so low she was out of it. They got her hooked up to an IV, gave her some glucose and off she went to the ER. I had to drive Mom as she had taken her sleeping pill. I was worried about driving myself but what could I do?

Thank God, Auntie was found to have a UTI. They got her Blood Sugar up. She was able to go home with a prescription for an antibiotic. She was told to check her blood more often than the 3 times a day that she normally does.

I cried the whole ride there, called my Pastor and prayed. I don’t know how much more stress I can handle. I just want Thanksgiving to go well.

Hello, I hope that your aunt is alright, having Type II diabetes myself and my husband also…I know how stressful that can be.
I also take medications that make me groggy.
I think you had good cause to miss NaNoBloPo for the day…as I am doing NaNoWriMo this month I decided that was more than enough to keep me busy.
Found you via Heads or Tails blogroll, nice meeting you.
