Today is Peace Day. This is a BlogBlast for Peace. I’m honored to take part of this blogging movement. To find out more information about this please visit Mimi Writes. What an opportunity to attempt to change the world through blogging!
Here’s my peace globe all nice and decorated by a blogging friend:

Here are some of my favorite quotes about peace:
For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
You can’t shake hands with a clenched fist.
Indira Gandhi
Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will live as one.
John Lennon
One day we must come to see that peace is not merely a distant goal we seek, but that it is a means by which we arrive at that goal. We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means.
Martin Luther King Jr.
What a perfect time for this blog movement. With the Iraq war, yes war, our troops in Afghanistan, and the major issues in Pakistan. There has to be solutions besides war. I know there is.
Peace to me is also being able to live freely without fear in your own home – no Domestic Violence of any kind. Being able to live freely in your own community – no crime. Being able to live freely without fear of your government dictating your religion, your way of living, your way of dressing, etc.
I believe in peace not because I’m a dreamer but because people can always strive to be better, to act more like humans with love and care in their hearts. Treat others with respect that’s all it takes.
Peace out!
