There’s a new device that can help people who take numerous amounts of prescribed medications at various times of the day to remember to take those important and necessary meds. Many people with chronic illnesses take a lot of prescriptions and even over the counter meds. I’m one of them.
I confess that as hard as I try to remember to take all of my medications, I often forget. I have a weekly medication dose container that I fill every week. I put the meds in the proper times and fill it each week. But if I’m busy, sleeping or having fun I may forget a dose. I’ll realize it when I start feeling sick but that’s not good.
Larry Shusterman, DO created a new device that enables people to be reminded to take their medications on time and to take them correctly. It is about the size of DVD which sets off an alarm when it’s time to take your medication. Medi-Sure must be filled by a pharmacist and of course there is a cost involved. At this time it costs $4 per day. I sure hope that they can sell this device alone and allow people to use it on their own. This is actually being used now for people who need help with their medications and are on the verge of needing in home or inpatient care.
