Oh the daily homework routine. The dread that comes over me as I attempt to help Peanut do her math problems. I’m still using words like “take away” and “carry over”. She’s looking at me like I have two heads. She’s still using her fingers to count.

I show her how I do it but her teacher shows her a different way. Peanut’s math is now timed so she can’t use her fingers to add and subtract. She doesn’t understand multiplication because she doesn’t have the basics down pat.

I don’t want Peanut to dread math like I did (still do). I want her to learn it, get better math grades, be confident about her ability and to have fun with it! And then homework time will be much more pleasant for both of us. Math Tutors can help us achieve these goals.
