Major Guilt

A member of my church has been quite ill for a few months. When she got sick it was quite sudden and then it just got really bad. She was in ICU for a while. Then back and forth to regular hospital rooms and ICU. She was even transferred to a Nursing Home for a few weeks.

I’m really not supposed to be visiting people in hospitals due to the immune suppressant meds I take. But did I visit her in the Nursing Home? No.

She was then transferred to a Hospice facility. I planned on seeing her yesterday. After my doctor’s visit I was exhausted. So I came home for a quick nap before going to see her. My quick nap turned into an afternoon nap. So I missed seeing her then. Today I was going no matter what. I helped a good friend who wasn’t feeling well by driving her to her doctor’s appointment. When I came home to get something to eat I checked my email. This lovely woman, a Godly loving woman who had a great sense of humor and would speak her mind (a woman after my own heart) passed today around 1 AM.

I missed her again. I know I’ll see her one day though and then there will be no more guilt.

Isn’t it good to know that your friend was part of your past and will indeed be a part of your future. We will all have a wonderful reunion! WOW!
