• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

    Happy Halloween!

    October 31st, 2007

Happy Halloween Mickey Mouse Minnie Moues

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

I hope that you all had a happy fun-filled day with lots of candy, treats and good times!

We spent about an hour in our church parking lot handing out candy to the school children across the street. Not many came by but we had fun and had some smiling and surprised faces.

This evening we went to a friend’s house for dinner and trick or treating. Her husband was kind enough to pick up my scooter from my house, take it on over so I could go out with the children. It was a lot of fun to be able to take part in that.

When we got home Peanut took a quick bath, fell into bed and went fast asleep. I’m tired too but in a good way. It was an enjoyable day. I’m looking forward to the upcoming holidays now. I’m ready!

    Missed A Day

    October 31st, 2007

It felt really weird, like something was missing. And it was. I didn’t blog yesterday. And there was a void…

How could I miss blogging so much? I missed getting things out of my system – venting, missed checking on my blogging buddies and missed writing. Amazing, me miss writing?

When I was in school I loved to write. I even thought of becoming a writer or poet. Believe me I’m not having delusions of grandeur that I can write well enough to be published but I’m getting enjoying the ability to write again. And it’s public! So I can imagine a bit ;)

    Morpheus Photo Morpher

    October 30th, 2007

Since learning my way around the internet I’ve come across some interactive sites and some games that I enjoy. Finding something fun to do with my downloaded photos is new to me though. I have a lot of photos saved from vacations, every day and special events. I also have a lot of images saved that I like to use on my blogs, forums and social network sites.

Morpheus Photo-Morpher is one of the most awesome things I’ve done with images so far. Having the ability to morph photos or images is something I’ve seen on tv, videos and even in a museum once. I didn’t know I’d have the ability to use software from Zoombli to use it for myself.

This was easy for me to use. The directions are very clear and straightforward. The most difficulty I had was choosing which images to use. When Peanut asks me what I think she’s going to look like when she grows up I can put her photo with mine and my hubby’s and see what comes out. I may do it alone in case it’s a scary sight though.

There are so many possibilities with this Photo Morpher program. You can morph celebrities together, a mommy and daddy cat to see what their kittens might look like, or yourself as a child with yourself now. If you can handle it morph yourself and your same sex parent to see what you may look like older.

Since I really just wanted to do something a bit different. I chose an image of Dora the Explorer and Elmo to morph. Once I downloaded the images from my computer all I had to do was add dots to Dora in her main features like her eyes, mouth, chin, etc. For every dot on Dora, I moved the corresponding dots on Elmo. This makes the morph work more smoothly.

    Morphed Photos

This software could make a great gift for that tech geek you know and love.

    Did You Know?

    October 29th, 2007

    Did You Know that….

    1. you can’t tickle yourself?

    2. the last time American Green cards were actually green was in 1964?
    3. it takes a week to make a jelly bean?
    4. Kermit the frog’s collar has 11 points?
    5. the football huddle originated at Gallaudet University — the world’s only accredited four-year liberal arts college for the deaf — in the 19th century when the football team found that opposing teams were reading their signed messages and intercepting plays?
    6. in English, “four” is the only digit that has the same number of letters as its value?
    7. that these useless facts were found on Deb and Jean’s Land O’ Useless Facts?

I love trivia and odd facts. I used to be a whiz at these kind of things until brain fog set in. I do try to test myself every now and then to keep my brain working a bit. I should do it more often. I find these kinds of things fun and entertaining.

I used to love crossword puzzles but I’m not able to do them any longer. So instead of getting frustrated I find something I can do but is somewhat challenging. Not only is it important to keep your body active if you’re able with exercise, but your mind needs some stretching too.

Try something you like and try it at a version you can handle. Then try to do a bit better. If it feels like work, either go down a level or look for something different to do. There’s many things available on the internet and in books. Peanut’s video game player even has some mind bender games now.
