• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

    I’ve got that crud too

    September 29th, 2007

I’ve got it too. That crud that’s going around. Even if you just read someone else’s blog or chat with someone you can catch it. I won’t say who I caught it from. There’s actually a few of you who I can point to. But let me tell you, I feel like I got hit by a truck and then trampled by a large crowd.

I have a cough, sore throat, scratchy throat that makes me cough more and a runny and congested nose. As worn out as I am I can’t sleep. Every time I get comfortable I start to cough, or I feel hot or chilled or I have to pee.

Keep me in your thoughts and prayers please. Most of you know I’m on immune suppressant drugs so these kind of things can go away quickly, take a month to kick or just feel back to normal or turn into something worse.

I’m praying for the first choice. I’ve got a lot of stuff to do. I don’t have time for this crud.

    We’re Going to A Party

    September 28th, 2007

Peanut just got invited to a birthday party on Sunday. But it’s a whole family type party – outdoors, from 12 to whenever, food, games for the kids, and adult talk and fun too. These are my favorite kind of parties.

There are two other kinds of children’s parties – the kids only parties where you really don’t know the parents and wonder if leaving your child in their hands is safe, or the ones where you know the parents and have no worries but your child decides that they want Mommy with them. You’ll end up helping take care of 15 other children, cleaning up and getting your clothes stained from cake and ice-cream.

I’m really looking forward to Sunday though. There will be a inflatable house and slide and other outdoor games. Children love Inflatable Bouncers. I love them because Peanut gets tired out and usually falls asleep early (bad mommy).

Since Peanut learned about this party she’s changing her mind (again) about what to do for her birthday. We were going to do a party at a fast food place again, then she wanted to do a party at a gymnastics place, now she wants an party at home with an inflatable bouncer. I found one online that is looks great:

How can any child not want to play in there? It’s so colorful and inviting. This one has the jumping area plus a slide. The hot air balloon decorations really add to a party theme.

This company has so many choices of inflatables – slides, obstacle courses, water slides and no kidding – boxing rings with boxing gloves. There’s something for everyone. Some, like the boxing ring or joust inflatable are more likely for the college age crowd or maybe some middle age men who will be in for a hurting the next day.

Inflatable Bouncers even offers a real work from home business. This looks like it be just right for a second job on the weekends or for a stay at home mom or dad too. SAHM’s or SAHD’s can market while they’re home with the children and then set up the inflatables in the evenings or weekends. You can even make this a full time job if you work at it hard enough. I know Peanut’s school has used inflatables at the two outdoor festivals we had last year. Just think of the possibilities. They offer financing and support to market, promote and grow your business.

Thinking of a party idea or a job? You can find both with Inflatable Bouncers.

    Stop Abuse

    September 27th, 2007

    Bloggers Unite

As a survivor of Domestic Violence I am proud to join other bloggers from Blog Catalog in the Bloggers Units Blog Against Abuse Blog Day today. What I’ve come to learn after I got out of my abusive situation is that domestic or partner abuse is all about power and control.

Here is a great way to look at this issue. It is called the Power and Control Wheel. I found this (I had one on my refrigerator for years!) on Turning Point Services.

    Power Control Wheel

Now that I am facing multiple chronic illnesses and try to advocate for others like me and anyone with disABILITIES. This issue has me thinking more about how it can affect us in different ways.

“1 in 4 people with a serious mental illness reports being a victim of violent crime in the last year, and people with mental illnesses are more likely than others to experience rape or sexual assault. – study by Dr. Linda A. Teplin, Northwestern University” from SafePlace

Please visit their website for education on preventing abuse by Personal Care Attendants, providing safety education to people with disABLITIES and help available for victims.

The National Domestic Violence phone number(s) is: 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) and 1-800-787-3224 (TTY). Please call if you are in any type of abusive relationship.
