• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

    Worn To The Bone

    June 16th, 2007

I’m exhausted, so tired I can hardly type this. Yesterday I drove to Tampa to pick up my Mom from the airport after her trip to Atlanta. We had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and then drove back home. Seeing my Mom was awesome, lunch was delicious, but oh my back, legs and shoulders ached. I was so tired too. Tried not to nap but just couldn’t help it. Then I ended up not being able to sleep last night. When I did, I slept fitfully, probably from the pain.

Today was another trip to Tampa. Thankfully I wasn’t driving. I had trouble waking up and even when I did I felt out of it. But got me and Peanut ready and out the door to go to Build A Bear for our friend’s little girl’s birthday.

Build a Bear is fun. The kids had a ball. It’s easy to keep them entertained. So it’s just standing around helping them spend our money! I was doing pretty well. The walk from the car (I forgot my handicap placard) was long as well as the walk to the store. I did it but I really hurt. Kept smiling through the pain so the children would have a good time. (Isn’t that something we all do?)

We ate dinner then back to home. But wait! I forgot to get a little something for hubby for Father’s Day from Peanut. Stopped in Super Walmart, trying to find an M&M collectible or even a Nascar car with M&M’s on it, but that didn’t happen. So we got a couple of Hot Wheels Nascar cars. I’ll get him something when we go to Disney at the end of the month.

After this I’ll check on things and then hit the bed. I know I’ll fall right to sleep because I’m exhausted and didn’t nap. Hope everyone had a good Saturday and didn’t overdo it.

A Contest, A Contest, Another Contest!

    June 15th, 2007

My friend Jenn at Everyday Randomness is running a contest on her blog too! It’s nice to know other bloggers :)

Her contest is for blog hosting from 2CheapBlogs. Here you go:

Two lucky winners will receive a free hosting package for one year including the following.
    # 1 Free Domain Name
    # 4 GB of Web Space
    # 5,000GB Monthly Transfer
    # FTP Access
    # SQL Access
    # 5 Email Addresses
    # 10 Sub-domains
    # SEO Submission and Services
    # WordPress (or other blogging platform) Setup

This package normally costs $5 a month or $45 yearly. This is 2CheapBlogs most popular package.

The contest will run from June 3rd through June 30th. 1 winner will be randomly chosen every two weeks. The first drawing will take place on June 17, and the second drawing will follow on July 1. All blog entries will be entered into a hat drawing, and one will be randomly pulled for each drawing. As an added incentive, if you get your entry in before June 16, you will be eligible for both drawings! A list of all participating blogs will be posted at the end of each week for a little free link love. Who can turn down free hosting, right? This is the perfect opportunity for anyone wishing to move away from free hosting or any blogger who already has hosting, but doesnt want to set up a blog as a sub-domain or pay for another domain!

Sounds great to me Jenn! I’d love another blog. I’m already thinking of a name and a theme….watch out world, the blog hog has arrived.

    I Miss Her Already

    June 15th, 2007

Ruth Graham has died. I’ve always looked up to her. As the wife of Billy Graham, you’d think she’d be very subservient and not wanting to do things to ruffle anyone’s feathers. But did you know that she remained a Presbyterian while her husband was a devout Baptist? What about that she was a medical doctor who worked as a missionary in China?

While Billy Graham was away on his crusades Mrs. Graham was home alone raising their five children. I can imagine that he was not home a great deal of the time. With her strong faith I bet she had times of loneliness and fear. Her children, especially Franklin (who is now the leader of Billy Graham’s Evangelistic Society) were pretty wild and Ruth had to keep them in line.

Billy Graham stated, “Ruth was my life partner, and we were called by God as a team,” Billy Graham said in a statement. “No one else could have borne the load that she carried. She was a vital and integral part of our ministry, and my work through the years would have been impossible without her encouragement and support.

“I am so grateful to the Lord that He gave me Ruth, and especially for these last few years we’ve had in the mountains together. We’ve rekindled the romance of our youth, and my love for her continued to grow deeper every day. I will miss her terribly, and look forward even more to the day I can join her in Heaven.” (from CNN)

Mrs. Graham I salute you and know that you are in peace now. God Bless You!

    People Are Talking

    June 14th, 2007

I copied this idea from Tammy at It Ain’t Fibro: Denial or Intuition. Go to Google and type your first name and the word “needs” in quotes, then do a search. This is what I got:

Connie needs a new home. – Sorry I love my home and I”m not an animal.

Connie needs a bone marrow donor. – There’s no humor in this one. Thank God I don’t need one. I pray that she finds one and all is well.

Connie needs prayers. – Yes I do. I’ll take all I can get.

Connie needs to stick with doing whatever it is she does every day. – This is from Thinking Fool blog and is really talking about Connie Chung. I don’t want to tell you what was said about Maury.

Connie needs to go and soon. – Well excuuuse me!

Connie needs to keep it up! – OK I’ll really, really try.

Connie needs your support to be re-elected. – Again, no thanks.

Connie needs a lot more attention. – I do. Please comment on my blog and make my day.

…now all Connie needs is a producer and tons of money. – Skip the producer.

There were a few more but they were about Connie Chung and some real estate agent filling your needs.

This was fun too. I’m liking these tags and memes that help you get over a writing block once in a while. Keep ‘em coming.
