Whew!

This past week has been unreal. One of the busiest I’ve had since I’ve been sick. I survived it because I had my eyes on the reason for the for the business, the work and the hectic frenzy.

My days were filled with helping out my Mom who needs a break from taking care of my Aunt and Uncle. She’s in Atlanta now visiting her brother and sister-in-law and their family. She’s 77 and is starting to show her age a bit. With the responsibilities of being a full-time caregiver and the stress her health is also getting worse. She really deserves a break and some fun.

For VBS my focus was the children and the chance to plant a seed in their hearts for Jesus. They made the stress, the headaches, the sore thoats, the overwhelming fatigue and weakness worth it. Friday night was the best! Many of the parents attended to see what the children learned and to listen to them sing.

Oh how lovely! I don’t know who was beaming more, the moms, dads or the children. Then they had pizza and snacks, got to get their crafts they made during the week and “buy” some prizes with the tickets they earned during the week.

Today was church and seeing the other volunteers had us all laughing and retelling stories about the children. Was it worth it to get home and feel like I was run over by a truck each night? Feel too tired to eat? (wish they would happen more often) Have a dry, sore throat so I couldn’t even speak above a whisper?

YES! PTL!
